    NBH is seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to join our fast growing company in a new role as Patient Account Representative which is responsible for coordinating the functions of Collections and Customer Service on the individual patient account.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure patient demographic information is accurate and funding source is billed and collected appropriately, accurately and timely
    • Work with patients or guarantors to discuss the status of accounts and make financial arrangements via phone or in-person. Assists patients in seeking alternative financing and/or assistance
    • Explains account to patient or guarantor and make all necessary efforts to collect payment
    • Processes credit card payments made by patients over the phone and in-person
    • Provides follow-up of accounts until they are resolved
    • Sets up outstanding accounts on budget plans
    • Documents actions taken and answers inquiries involving individual accounts and researches problem accounts to assure resolution for payment
    • Act as an ongoing knowledge source and lead for staff when they have questions regarding patient accounts
    • Recommend policy and procedural changes to the supervisor for review as needed and assists with rolling out procedural changes to the staff
    • Interact professionally and effectively with patients, family members, physicians and other personnel in a fast-paced environment
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • The minimum requirements are Associate Degree preferred and three (3) years of relevant work experience in a medical office or hospital
    • Experience collecting upfront (prior to treatment) amounts over $2K
    • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification
