    We have an opening for a Nurse Practitioner in our new detox facility in Denver, CO. The position will be full-time, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as on-call requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct thorough medical histories; perform complete physical examinations (where indicated); initiate appropriate lab tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on patients to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan with direct review by a physician
    • Provide information and answers routine questions of patients regarding their addiction and other issues, including preventative health maintenance topics such as diet, weight, smoking, and topics related to medical specialty, with basic recommendations
    • Educates patients regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects, and hazards
    • Assists with record keeping, completes appropriate patient medical charts, transcribes lab data and routine correspondence, as directed and reviewed by a physician
    • Respond to emergencies and initiate action, as required
    • Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients' medical and personal information
    • Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to excellent patient care
    • Other duties as assigned

    Additionally, a team of nurses will report to the NP and various administrative tasks will be required including scheduling and payroll approval.  The NP will report to the Medical Director.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Must demonstrate competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan development and invasive procedures as per clinical privileges
    • Must hold an active license for advanced practice nurse
    • Must hold certification as a nurse practitioner from approved certifying body
    • Current CPR
    • Knowledge of chemical dependency and psychological disorders
    • Ability to communicate and lead effectively with diversity
    • Ability to keep records and prepare reports
    • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff, patients, patient's families and authorized consents
